Ilse Joris

Ilse Joris werd geboren in Leopoldstad (1958) thans Kinshasa in Congo. Ze woont in Kontich in de provincie Antwerpen.
Als gewezen leerkracht zedenleer is ze erg begaan met maatschappelijke thema’s. De toeschouwer wordt aangespoord om uit zijn/haar comfortzone te komen. Op heel wat van haar werken zijn, op het eerste zicht, onsamenhangende beelden te zien. Zo nodigt ze de kijker uit om op een andere manier waar te nemen.
Ze behaalde ook het diploma psychologisch assistent. De menselijke psyche, verbondenheid en existentiële twijfel zijn terugkerende thema’s in haar werken.
Aan de kunstacademie te Hove behaalde ze in 2016, met grootste onderscheiding, het getuigschrift tekenkunst van de hogere graad. De invloed van haar leraar, de bekende kunstenaar Gideon Kiefer, is nooit ver zoek.
Momenteel volgt ze een vijfjarige multidisciplinaire opleiding onder de naam ‘project’.

Ilse Joris was born in Leopoldstad (1958), currently Kinshasha in Congo. She lives in Kontich in the province of Antwerp.
Nothing is what it seems. Everything is true and not true at the same time. Ilse Joris likes images that make a strong first impression and that contain a story. As a former teacher of ethics, she is very committed to social themes. The viewer is encouraged to come out of his comfort zone. At first sight a lot of her art works seem disjointed images. This invites the viewer to look at art differently.
Ilse obtained the degree of psychologica assistant. The human psyche, connection and existential doubts of people are returning elements in the art works of Ilse.
At the art Academy of Hove she succeeded in 2016, with high distinction, the mastery of drawing. The influence of her teacher, the famous Gideon Kiefer, is never far away.
At the moment she is following a five year multidisciplinar course, named ‘project’.
